Description: Maple Harmony
This 8.5×11″ original watercolor painting is created using high-quality, lightfast paints on 300lb cold pressed archival cotton watercolor paper. It is mounted on a 11×13.5” solid birch wood panel with an acrylic nonbreakable glass and ready to be hung.
This piece titled Maple Harmony is a tribute to Vermont’s iconic sugar maple trees—beloved not only for the sweet sap that becomes maple syrup, but also for their quiet, enduring presence in our landscape. Inspired by the early morning light filtering through the sugar maple in my front yard, this artwork reflects the beauty and vitality that trees bring to our world.
Trees symbolize the sacred exchange of carbon dioxide for oxygen—offering life, breath, and balance. The Sanskrit symbol for “breathe,” gently hanging from the wind chimes, is a reminder to inhale and exhale with mindfulness, inviting a sense of calm and equanimity. This symbol has been a necessary personal mantra in my life this year.
In Vermont, the trees truly have it—for beauty, for breath, and for life.
