Artist Statement: Sunny Ladybug Birdhouse

What can I say about birds? They fly above my desk image and verse where I write this note. If you look at my works hanging on the walls, they warble in my art. Birds are freedom, with the gift of flight, and songs that soar into our ears. They caw and coo and seem to pray for inner souls, for the earth, for me and you. We have always honored them, pasting wings upon our dream angel selves. Birds have continued to perch on my shoulders, or fly into my brain invisibly too, for they have continued to inspire my work. To paint a house for them to nest, to see those eggs hatch, and mothers/fathers flying in to feed their naked, growing brood.

Ah that is paradise itself, especially when those down then feathered fledglings learn to fly the roost. That is when the story, like a flower blossom blooms. In glory and in praise. I hope my domicile for our feathered earth angels will please them, and inspire us to
always know that our home, with grass and trees and sky so blue by day and filled with stars in the dark night will always find content. And if we are lucky we’ll hear them sing in the night, and greet us with the morning light.

I am James M. Frase-White, a multimedia artist, presently refocusing on painting, but also a sculptor and stained glass artist. If interested my resume is available, but I do hope the work will sing for itself.
I live in St. Johnsbury next to a hillside sharp and steep, the Passumpsic river lined with trees and bushes perfect for birds is down the hill, for duck and geese, too.
