Art is my passion. Art is my joy. Art is my escape.
I have been creating art in one form or another since I was three years old. I am not a formally trained artist, meaning I did not go to art school. but I have taken many many art classes over the years including drawing my first nude when I was twelve years old. You can probably guess that my parents were very supportive of my artistic ambitions. Many of my skills are self taught.
My creative activity includes many different forms of 2-D art; batiking, screen printing, block printing, drawing and painting. While learning to batik, screen and block print at the Shelburne Craft School during my middle school years I discovered my love of printing onto fabrics. Fabric printing eventually lead me to discover digital fabric printing. Using this technology I create images to be printed on to fabrics that I use for my line of home decor items that includes my popular tea towels. In addition to printing onto fabric I also print onto ceramic tiles for trivets, coasters and decorative tiles for walls. I design and paint floorcloths. Floorcloths are painted canvas rugs that are both functional and decorative. My floorcloths can be found in homes across the United States. I am a licensed artist and my images are on products in homes across the world.
I come from a family of generations of Vermonters. Although I am not fond of our long winters I truly love Vermont. Vermont is a beautiful place to live, raise a family and find endless inspiration for my art. I live in Richmond, VT with my husband Bruce, our dog Bo and cats Lucy Mittens and Winston.
