#3, Birdhouse, Nicole Gadouas

Description

I am a native Vermont artist. I work in many  mediums, especially Watercolor, Gouache, and Ink. The imagery in my art is inspired by my everyday life experiences. So it was fitting for me when I was given this bird house, to be reminded of the ones that hang throughout my yard. I live surrounded by woods, and birds are a huge inspiration in my work. I love watching the parents frantically flying back and forth feeding the fledglings. They scream with hangry chirps and the houses sway side to side. My  concept for this creative challenge was “bird-food” worms, moths and insects. As the design unfolded the beetle stencil I created reminded me of the original movie “Beetlejuice” and the new sequel just released. I applied the color theme to my images and even included the iconic black and white stripe snake from the movie as the entrance keeper to the birdhouse.
