Needle felting is the art of sculpting wool or other fiber with a barbed needle. My needle felted sculptures, mostly animals, are made completely by hand. I often create a wired armature and build layers of wool roving on to the armatures to create the sculpture. Details such as snouts, tongues and feet and claws are crafted from polymer clay or wire and floral tape.
