Laughing River Pottery

As a lover of the great outdoors and with a passion for working with my hands, I create work that captures elegance, whimsy, and joy.
My work begins with handmade porcelain clay, self-designed and produced from scratch in my studio. With a knowledge of ceramic chemistry, I create glazes that are designed for durability and function: glossy to matte to wild crystalline ones.

I love flowers, dragonflies, bogs and fens, and being outside in the beautiful landscape of Vermont. My work includes a variety of vases, created as vessels for flowers in all seasons: from native pitcher plant vases to dragonfly inspired cut vases to leaf vases that evoke lichen.

My work also includes crystalline-glazed teapots and a mug series to celebrate the wonderful furry and feathered creatures of Vermont.
For me, creating pottery is about sharing the joy and beauty of life through a functional piece of art.
